Fußballfieber

What do you do when you live a couple of hours north of the city where the opening match of the 2006 World Cup is being played? You get some friends together, maybe gather some fan paraphernalia and noisemakers, and head for the Autobahn. We didn’t have tickets to the Germany vs. Costa Rica opener, so we opted for the student budget route and went to the kostenloser Fan Fest at Olympia Park. They set up a huge screen in the water and we grabbed our prime viewing seats on the hill. Fußballlieder, flags, Bratwürste, sun burns, cheering and victory celebrations made the day complete.
